ISBER is pleased to announce that it will receive topic-driven educational workshop proposals for presentation at the ISBER 2020 Annual Meeting and Exhibits.

ISBER workshops are educational opportunities at which a group of people engage in intensive discussion and activities on a topic-driven area of interest. The learning format provides an interactive experience that promotes learning, encourages discussion and will deeply engage the audience members. Workshop topics will inform meeting attendees about specific types of repository-based activities and concerns with an international perspective.

Workshop proposals should support ISBER’s vision and mission, and align with the 2020 meeting theme “Roadmap to Accelerating Scientific Discovery”.

Workshop time slots are 1 hour or 1.5 hours in length. If your workshop requires a greater amount of time, we encourage you to split your workshop into an A and B session for two time slots. Please submit one proposal and indicate in the workshop overview how you plan to separate your workshop to accommodate the separate sessions.

Review of the proposals will include the following considerations:

  • Interactive nature of workshop
  • Potential educational value to meeting attendees
  • Consistency with overall meeting theme
  • Applicability of workshop content as compared with ISBER’s mission/goals and vision
  • Multinational involvement through the inclusion of international elements or presenters
  • Outcome of workshop

Please note that ISBER educational workshops are different from corporate workshops which afford sponsors an opportunity to feature their own products and services. If you are interested in hosting a corporate workshop, please view our sponsorship information here.
